3rd Newbury Scout Group: Cubs

3rd Newbury Cub Scouts are boys and girls aged 8 –10½ years old. We meet on a Tuesday evening between 6.30pm and 8.00pm at The Scout Hut in Poplar Place in Shaw, Newbury.

3rd Newbury Cubs have a fantastic time having fun and learning new skills and gaining knowledge at the same time. For example, as a group we have been:

• Hiking up Beacon Hill in the dark
• Making vegetable soup and cooking Damper Bread on an open camp fire
• Having fun getting to the top of some climbing walls
• Camping outdoors on our Mission Impossible camp
• Helping pack food parcels for the elderly at Tesco
• Trying archery
• Making some beautiful candles
• Having fun on the ‘Wobstacle’ at Northcroft Swimming Pool
• And learning a lot about the surrounding area on a historic walk around Newbury

The Cubs who have carried out these activities have been presented with badges to mark their achievements.

We’ve also got an action-packed year ahead with lots of fun activities.

At 3rd Newbury there are 5 adult leaders:
