3rd Newbury Scout Group: Explorers

Most scouts believe that when they leave their Scout Troop around the age of 14 that their scouting days are over – nothing could be further from the truth!

Explorer Scout Units (ESUs) continue scouting with more adventurous and independent activities for young people between the ages of 13 and a half and 18, and the Network Scout units are for young people between the ages of 18 and 25.

Currently three Explorer Scout Units are run by the Kennet District, and they are geographically situated in Newbury, Kintbury and Hungerford. They have their own website with a full range of programmed activities displayed which is updated regularly.

For more details see kennetexplorers.org.uk and check out the current programmes. The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme operates alongside the Scouting Awards.
